Keynote Speaker
Mark Homer – View Mark’s Website
Mark Homer came out of college and made most of the mistakes that the typical college graduate makes when starting their corporate career. However, one day two years into his stalling career as he began to feel mired in mediocrity he was involved and was fortunate enough to walk away from a plane crash.
This wake up call put things into perspective, Mark was not where he wanted to be in his life and career. He vowed to do whatever it took to change this. In under three years, Mark learned the key steps to make the transition from college student to corporate executive and was rewarded with promotions and tripling his salary.
Having been successful for 15 years in the corporate world at both the largest companies like IBM and even leading a few small startups Mark continued to see other recent college graduates struggle with the same things coming out of college. He decided to take a sabbatical from his work as a corporate executive and share the steps he learned with other new college graduates so they can jumpstart their corporate career and keep American companies leading the world.
While Mark can’t recreate the adrenaline felt when plummeting over a 1000 feet down in a plane with a dead engine, he tries to come close and leave the audience with the intense energy to take action and incorporate his success steps into their life.
Otis Williams – Employer Briefing Breakfast Speaker
Otis Williams was adopted and raised in a low-income single parent home, where his mother’s example made himself say to himself, “If she can do it, I can do it!”
In 1986, Otis joined the U.S. Army and spent 4½ years serving his country. Part of that time was spent as an Airborne Paratrooper. In less than two years, Otis was promoted from private to sergeant.
After receiving an honorable discharge, Otis began a career in banking, with no previous banking or finance experience. In less than 18 months, he was promoted from loan collector to assistant branch manager.
In 1993, while still working full-time as a banker, Otis started his personal development firm—Otis Williams Limitless. In August of that same year, he emerged victorious from among more than 10,000 speakers worldwide to capture the coveted title of “World Champion of Public Speaking” for Toastmasters International.
Otis was named as one of the Business Courier and Morton’s of Chicago’s “Forty Under 40” young business leaders. He has been honored as a YMCA Black Achiever and has been recognized as an Emerging Leader by Applause! Magazine.
