Grants
The Midwest Cooperative Education and Internship Association (MCEIA) awards funding of up to $1,500 annually to an MCEIA Member interested in conducting research in our profession. Co-op Ed/Internship professionals and others who seek to study the value of student and employer participation in Cooperative Education & Internships are encouraged to submit a proposal for consideration. Collaborative and team approaches are also welcomed.
Research proposals may cover any topic dealing with Cooperative Education and Internships. The goal of MCEIA is to reward good research and amass knowledge in the area of experiential education. Grant proposals from MCEIA members will be given first preference; however it is not a requirement for the grant recipient to be a member of MCEIA.
The application form and research guidelines are attached for your perusal. The deadline for proposal applications is June 4, 2010, after which time the research committee will evaluate each proposal on the criteria specified in the guidelines. MCEIA members who are interested in learning more about research methods and applying for this grant in the future are encouraged to volunteer to be a reader/committee member of the research committee. This is a particularly effective way for new professionals to learn about effective grant writing and to become involved in MCEIA.
Grant recipients will be announced at the 2010 fall conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. Grant recipients will receive one-half of the funds at that time in good faith with the agreement that they will present the results of their research at the 2011 fall conference Milwaukee, WI, of which at that time, the remaining half of the grant monies will be awarded.
