2009 has been an exciting year for the Ohio Cooperative Education Association.
CONGRATULATIONS!
OCEA would like to congratulate Alex Juncker from the University of Cincinnati on being awarded a MCEIA Student Scholarship at the 2009 conference. Alex completed 4 quarters of co-op with Duke Energy and 2 quarters of co-op with Systecon. OCEA wishes Alex the best as he continues his Electrical Engineering studies and approaches graduation in 2010.
GE Aviation was awarded the 2009 MCEIA Employer of the Year award at the 2009 annual conference. GE Aviation’s co-op program has been in existence for more than 35 years. The number of co-ops employed each year continues to grow and this year our business has a projected population of 600+ co-ops/interns attending over 100 universities across 15 majors. Co-o/interns employees are encouraged to participate in our Six Sigma training and a variety of other courses on technical and interpersonal skills. OCEA would like to congratulate GE Aviation, and Karen Clark, long-time OCEA member, and Staffing and Early Identification program manger on their recognition of this award.
What’s Cool in Ohio? Co-op!
For the second year in a row, OCEA will be hosting a state-wide Ohio’s Coolest Co-ops contest. Students are encouraged to submit entries to compete for prizes valued at $100. Entries are accepted January 1-February 15, 2010. Online voting is open February 22-March 5, 2010. Winners will be notified and invited to the 2010 conference.
